Who we elect matters No images? Click here John, Races this year are going to be crucial for fighting back against anti-environmental policy at the local level and setting a vision for what healthy communities in Washington can look like as we work to recover our state from the impacts of the pandemic. That is why we are focused on winning elections in communities across the state. Who we elect this year matters. The results of local elections are critical – local governments make decisions on everything from climate action to new fossil fuel terminals to stormwater infrastructure. Decisions at the local level not only impact the immediate community, but also have a ripple effect throughout the state. When Port Commissioners stop an oil terminal in their community it means less fossil fuels moving through our state. When counties implement smart stormwater solutions it improves the water quality downstream. When cities build more green buildings it reduces the overall carbon pollution in Washington. WCV has experience winning these tough, local races but to be successful we need a strong membership behind us. We need your support now to elect environmental champions who care about protecting their communities and our state’s environment. Your membership contribution this summer will allow us to support more candidates in more places across Washington. Thank you, Kathy Kathy Malley P.S. Thanks to your help, WCV and our legislative champions achieved historic wins for the environment in Olympia this year. Now let’s do the same at the local level, join today! |
