As a former Congressional candidate myself, I experienced firsthand the barriers that have been erected to keep women like me from having a seat at the table where decisions for our OWN lives are being made. We’re here to change all that. In 2020, we helped topple a 50-year political dynasty and elected the first Black woman to represent the state of Missouri in Congress -- Rep. Cori Bush. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick is running in FL-20. As the owner of a business that provides healthcare services, Sheila knows firsthand why we need Medicare for All. Sheila’s team is executing an expansive voter outreach plan that is shaping up to be a winning one, including a huge media blitz of local TV, radio, signs, and billboards. Jessica Mason is fighting to bring a “New Deal” to the people of TX-30. Her work in affordable housing to help residents receive food security, healthcare services and rent assistance, makes her uniquely qualified to address the housing crisis millions of people are currently facing. Jessica’s energetic team of local activists is already making waves against an incumbent who’s held that seat for as long as Jessica has been alive. And our current “Mother of the Movement” Nina Turner is in the midst of a heated special election, where the voters of OH-11 are already casting their ballots. With this election only weeks away, the Democratic establishment and the GOP are doing everything they can to hold Nina back, but the will of the people can’t be stopped. Brand New Congress has fielded hundreds of outstanding candidates this year. As a grassroots organization fighting against corporations and their influence on our politics, we rely on people power to fuel this movement. There is a path to victory for working women of color if we stick together and support them.
Let’s get to work,
