Africa & Europe
Praise God for a great turnout for our ‘MudRaise’ event in the Netherlands. Roughly 500 people came to race through a muddy obstacle course to show their support and raise funds to bring rescue to those enslaved around the world. Praise God for these incredible participants, and pray that the word would continue to spread throughout the Netherlands and the rest of Europe that we can be part of ending slavery in our world.
Latin America
One of the ways in which IJM partners with local authorities to build safer communities is by equipping police, judged, prosecutors, psychologist, other justice officials, and members of civil society to better respond to violence. Pray for all the trainings and mentorship programs happening across Latin America this month, that even with COVID-19 restrictions our teams can secure significant participation and great response so more women and children are protected and restored.
South Asia
Praise God for a survivor of bonded labor named Kumar who just graduated with his master's degree in social work! Kumar was orphaned and enslaved at a brick kiln when he was only seven years old, and he toiled for years under the control of a brutal owner. After we helped rescue him in 2003, Kumar set his sights on a quality education and—despite many setbacks along the way—just graduated with his master’s degree this month. Kumar actually worked for IJM for several years—and we are so proud of his progress! Praise God for his tenacity, and pray he’ll find a great job where he can serve vulnerable people with his skills and training.
Southeast Asia
Please continue to pray for recruitment for open positions within IJM Philippines. Pray that the right people will apply and be hired for these positions, and please pray strength, wisdom and discernment over our People Support Team as they continue to process applications.
