How to get involved with Debt Week 2019

From 23 November - 1 December Jubilee Debt Campaign supporters will be holding stalls and events across the UK and we hope you will lend your support!

There are many ways to get involved with Debt Week and we'd like to tell you about the exciting plans and resources we have. We would also love to hear your thoughts and answer your questions:

**Join the webinar Monday 21 October 6.30pm to find out more** using this link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_1ITsEkU_T-WzN6fgxRBoMA

Joining us on the call:
Sarah-Jayne Clifton, Director of Jubilee Debt Campaign will tell us more about the household debt crisis in the UK.
Samira Johnson, from the Unfair Debt Group - a group of people affected by debt who have been campaigning in London, will tell us about their work and some of the successes they’ve had.

Did you know that One in four people in the UK are struggling with debt?

There’s a whole industry that preys on people in this situation, charging them enormous interest rates.

Earlier this year, the body that regulates the banks – the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) – reviewed the rules around debt but they did virtually nothing to stop rip-off lending. It's not good enough.

So during Debt Week we will petition the government to put pressure on them to make sure they act. We will collect personal stories of debt and deliver them to the FCA and the government so they can really see the impact the debt trap is having on people’s lives.

We look forward to hearing from you,
Jenny and Eva
