Friend --
I wanted to reach out to folks and thank everyone for helping us hit our fundraising goals last quarter.
Thank you for believing in our shared vision for America and in our plan to bring Iowan issues to the national stage.
As you know, our campaign doesn’t accept donations from corporations or special interests. The role of money in our political system has allowed the government to rule without the will of the people. It’s a corrupting force and my campaign will have none of it.
This campaign has and will continue to refuse all PAC money, including leadership PACs. Because leadership PACs allow corporate donors to give to candidates under the radar. Just another scheme to trick the American people and muddy the water between progressives and bystanders of corporate influence.
I don’t believe locking myself in a call room begging big donors and PACs for money is what Iowans want or need. Iowans need to meet and talk with their leaders face to face. In doing so, I am committed to pushing the people’s agenda -- affordable healthcare, investing in education and childcare, and fighting for working families.
I visited over 70 counties in Iowa and attended events in all four Congressional Districts. It’s been an amazing experience and has helped us secured critical endorsements and built us a strong network of grassroots supporters.
Fighting big money is a monumental and sometimes scary task. But my campaign has over $1,000,000 cash on hand and the spirit to go the distance against Joni and her corporate cohort. We’re here to win, we’re here to bring progressive, democratic values to Iowa.
If you can, please chip in $5 or more to help me build a campaign that’s capable of defeating Joni Ernst and ditching Mitch McConnell.
Thank you,
Eddie Mauro
