Dear Friends,

Last Sunday we celebrated Independence Day in communities throughout the 49th Congressional District. I was struck by the overwhelming enthusiasm on display, and by a wonderful turnout at events and parades that were bursting at the seams. 

COVID was a challenge for our country and our world. But the notion that we might “return to a new normal” and a “country forever changed” - to my eye, has been put to rest.  What is normal is the desire to congregate, laugh, sing, celebrate, and to shake hands and hug. I saw plenty of that on Sunday!
