Friend, Here in New York, we faced our second week of extreme heat in a row this week, and Hurricane Elsa is on its way. Not to mention yesterday's storm flooded highways, subway stations, and streets. Due to climate change, we know that this kind of extreme weather is only going to get worse, as will the inequalities that it spurs -- and that means we have a lot of work to do not just to fight climate change, but also to combat inequality exacerbated by it. When extreme heat impacts the power supply, it shouldn't only be poor communities and communities of color impacted, but too often it is. When storms flood neighborhoods, subway stations, and buildings, it shouldn't just be in poor communities and communities of color. We need to invest in fighting climate change -- and we need to invest in the resiliency of every community. I'm fighting to address this kind of systemic inequality and ensure that every community gets the resources they need to improve their infrastructure to be resilient to future storms. Will you join me by chipping in $20.22 today so I can keep fighting for a better future in 2022? If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: We have a lot of work to do to fight the inequalities that are exacerbated by climate change while also combatting the causes -- but I know we can do it together. Let's get to work,
