We are looking for someone to provide a first class research, analysis and communications support service to Councillors in the Nottingham Independents Group (the Opposition Group) at Nottingham City Council.

In this interesting and varied post you will be responsible to the Group Leader and will provide high quality political intelligence to the Group. The core duties are to carry out research, provide advice and analysis, prepare reports and deliver effective internal and external communications on behalf of the Group. You will act as a liaison point between the Councillors and their constituents, council officers, partner organisations, the Nottingham Independents Party and MPs. You will also attend and minute Group meetings and oversee the Councillors' casework.

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*

* Commitment to the values and policies of the Nottingham Independents Party
* Familiar with the role of a modern Councillor and/ or local government
* Ability to work in a political environment
* Excellent organisation and communication skills
* Excellent research and analysis skills
* IT literate
