Earlier this week Mitch McConnell got caught on tape bragging to his constituents about the major boost in federal support they were about to receive thanks to the American Rescue Plan.

That’s pretty rich, since McConnell opposed those funds and not one Senate Republican voted in favor of the package.

The truth is it took every single Democrat standing united to pass the COVID relief plan to boost our economy and help folks get back to work after the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression.

And the most recent jobs report shows that these efforts are working: the economy added 850,000 jobs in June -- breaking all expectations that economists had.

We’re getting to work building back better -- but we still have a long way to go to build the infrastructure of the 21st century, move to a clean energy economy, ensure affordable child and elder care, expand educational opportunities, close the racial wealth gap, strengthen our democratic institutions, and put our country on a path of strong, inclusive and sustainable growth that will benefit every American for years to come.

Unfortunately, we can’t count on Senate Republicans to help get this done.

The fight to deliver real progress for the American people is the fight of our time — and your engagement makes all the difference. Please consider chipping in $5 or whatever you can today to help support our work and keep the Senate gavel out of Mitch McConnell’s hands:

Together we will build a better America with shared prosperity and opportunity for all.

Thank you.
