We have to do everything we can to pass this bill before August Recess. Indivisibles,
Wow! Over the past week and a half, activists in 40 states and DC have hosted or planned nearly 400 Deadline for Democracy events calling on our Senators to pass S. 1, the For the People Act.
The photos have poured in from all over, from drummers and dancers outside Sen. Tillis’s office in North Carolina and Rep. Jimmy Gomez standing on the back of a truck to rally Los Angeles Indivisibles, to a rolling billboard in Arizona and a newspaper ad in Colorado, to Tennessee Indivisibles demanding their Senators stop trashing our democracy. As we say when we’re marching: this is what democracy looks like. Not just voting, but holding our elected officials accountable every day.

If you haven’t yet made it to an event, there’s still time -- check out our event map and see if there’s an event near you. But if your local event has already happened, never fear! There’s a lot more left to do.
🥇 [MOST IMPORTANT] Set yourself a daily reminder to call your senator every day and tell them to pass S.1 (the “For the People Act”). Phone calls and in-person meetings are the most effective ways to influence your senator, and since we need to pass this bill before August recess, calling daily now is truly crucial. We know it might feel odd to call over and over, but please know that your second and third calls are just as important as the first one. Click on one of the links below, and we’ll add a reminder to your calendar with all the details:
Set a Daily Reminder to Take Action for S.1
🥈 Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 17th. We’re partnering with other progressive organizations on John Lewis Democracy Vigils all across the country that night. You can find an event near you here -- more are being added every day.
🥉 If you have a few bucks to spare, click here to donate to fund Indivisible's work. We’ve budgeted over half a million dollars on our democracy campaigns this year, not to mention all our other work, and things like the mobile billboards, the newspaper ad, materials for events, and the technology to get everyone organized all cost money. Anything you can give will help us keep this work going for the long haul!
It’s been inspiring and heartening to watch the stories and photos pour in over the past week, and we know it’s making a difference. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
