Hi John,
As an abolitionist organization, we know it’s time to abolish the death penalty once and for all and the entire carceral state.
We’ve been working with the family of Billie Allen, who was convicted of a crime he never committed when he was 19. Next Tuesday, July 13, we will be joining artists, scholars, and activists who are coming together for a virtual event hosted by Haymarket Books to call attention to Billie’s campaign.

Billie has been in prison on death row for the last 23 years where he has channeled his pain, anger, and at times numbness, into art. From within prison walls, Billie has created hundreds of paintings and collages. He’s now sending them into the world in form of postcards, encouraging anyone who cares about justice to mail them to their representatives to raise awareness about his case, the many miscarriages of justice and the death penalty. The postcards will be available on his website soon, where you can also buy original works of art to support the campaign.

Peace, love, and justice,
