John, as we exit the most difficult times of this pandemic, I am focused on rebuilding our institutions better than before.

The American Rescue Plan made huge gains in our vaccination program and supported families, small businesses, and our local governments/public health centers.

Now, my Democratic colleagues and I are focused on bringing our infrastructure into the 21st century, combating climate change through investments in renewable energy development, and supporting the economy of caregivers and health care workers.

With a slim House majority and a 50/50 split in the Senate, turning important legislation through into law has been tricky — many Republicans are dead set on holding up our progress as much as possible. That’s not good governance and not what they were sent to Washington to do.
