Texas Republicans introduced a sweeping voter suppression bill that would cut polling place hours, outlaw ballot drop boxes, and make it easier for folks to petition judges to overturn election results in the state.

Beto O’Rourke: “If we don’t have voting rights, if we don’t have democracy, if we don’t have free and fair elections, there’s no tradition in the Senate or otherwise that will matter anymore.”

Senate Republicans have demonstrated that they will use their power of the filibuster to block any voting rights bill that makes it easier for folks to vote. They know that when more people vote, they lose , and they care more about maintaining their power than about the sanctity of our elections.
