I have some exciting news: On Wednesday night, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his support for a bold Civilian Climate Corps and said he’s committed to ensuring it’s included in the infrastructure bill!
Schumer’s commitment to a bold CCC is a huge win for our movement and a testament to the work of Sunrisers in New York. But to get Congress to actually pass a bold Civilian Climate Corps, we need to keep pushing all across the country.

Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure plan is quite literally being written by ExxonMobil. It doesn’t include a Civilian Climate Corps or any significant action to tackle the climate crisis at the scale we need. We’re organizing to make sure Biden and Congress pass a fully funded Civilian Climate Corps alongside historic investments to stop climate change as part of the Build Back Better package.
This is our moment, John. We need Congress to pass bold climate policy NOW — no compromises, no excuses.
