John,
On January 6th, we witnessed an unprecedented attack on our sacred democratic institutions when domestic terrorists violently stormed the U.S. Capitol. And let’s be clear: this wasn’t random. The gun lobby has been stoking the flames and hateful ideologies that led to this attack for years – which is exactly why we cannot stop working against them.
This attack was unequivocally an act of terrorism and these people were emboldened by a gun lobby-backed president and the hateful ideologies he and the NRA spew – and unfortunately we know all too well how deadly hate and gun violence can be together.
We saw it at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, and a Walmart in El Paso. This is white supremacist extremism at work and we cannot stand for it in our country – where everyone should have the right to a life free from gun violence. That's why Brady is condemning white supremacy today — and we need 10,000 gun safety advocates like you to join us before 11:59 p.m. tonight.

Hate should not be armed: Until we pass common-sense gun safety legislation to expand background checks, violence like this will continue to happen. We’ve already seen it: Shortly after January 6th, the Atlanta spa shooter was able to walk into a store and purchase a deadly weapon to commit white supremacist violence — no waiting period, no questions asked.
We need to take urgent action to stop white supremacist violence – we can only keep this petition open until 11:59 p.m. tonight and we still need 10,000 gun safety advocates like you to join us.
