9 Jul 2021 | Full Fact needs your support today

Friend,

This week, we were pleased to see two important developments for our election laws.

But our last election was left wide open to abuse. Can you help make sure voters aren’t misled in the next?

Yes, I'll chip in £10
Yes, I'll become a monthly supporter

The government has finally introduced legislation to require political campaigners to put their names on digital campaigning materials in the Elections Bill.

At a minimum, we should expect the same standards online as we do on print leaflets.

The Committee for the Standards in Public Life has also come out in favour of legislation to require advertising transparency for political ads.

Full Fact has been calling for these changes since 2018, and we were right to be worried. The last general election saw inappropriate and misleading campaign tactics used on all sides of the debate, many of which crossed the line.

But each and every donation makes our voice louder. And the more people standing alongside us for good information, the more we can ramp up pressure on the government to make sure these changes are in place.

We all deserve fair, accurate information in the run up to our next election. If you agree, can you help make sure that we get it?

Yes, I'll chip in £10
Yes, I'll give a regular donation
We're so grateful for anything you are able to give right now.

Thank you for standing with us.

Glen – Head of Policy and Advocacy, Full Fact
