John, many GOP members of Congress are responsible for inciting the horrific January 6th attack at our Capitol that left several dead.
Now, some of those same Republicans want to join the committee to investigate this violent insurrection.
The House’s select committee needs to uncover the truth and make sure an attack like this one can never happen again. And anyone who’s still spouting Donald Trump’s lies about the 2020 election -- even after the terrible violence they’ve caused -- has no business being a part of it.

John, having representatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Madison Cawthorn on this committee would be a danger to our democracy. They’re still shamelessly spreading Trump’s conspiracy theories, with no regard for the damage they’ve caused -- and just weeks ago, they voted against a major 9/11-style commission to investigate the insurrection.
Putting representatives like these on the committee would be disastrous. We need this committee to remain focused on uncovering the truth -- and holding anyone who incited this racist attack accountable.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi has already appointed eight members to the select committee -- and as soon as this week, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy will offer names for five more. McCarthy, who voted to overturn the 2020 election earlier this year, has already made his disdain for the committee clear.
Add your name if you agree: Speaker Pelosi must reject any efforts by McCarthy to undermine the select committee by putting Republicans who incited the insurrection on it.
This is bigger than partisan politics, John. The safety of the American people and the integrity of our democracy are on the line.
