On day one, Joe Biden made it clear that despite his election and the new Democratic majorities in Congress, he would make the effort to reach across the aisle for the good of the country. And what have Republicans offered in response?
“Eighteen more months of chaos and the inability to get stuff done. That's what we want,” says Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX).

At a press conference last month in Kentucky, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell proclaimed that “One-hundred percent of our focus is on standing up to this administration.” Nothing has changed but the date for McConnell, who, during the Obama administration said “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
When Democrats Turn Out is supporting the progressive candidates who will fight back against obstructionists like McConnell and his widespread, bad-faith influence throughout his party, but we're in danger of having to cut spending to our most key races.
Joe Biden and our Democratic majorities can only pass the progressive legislation we need if one of two things happens:
- Republicans decide to start acting in good faith
- We win enough seats to render feckless GOP obstructionists powerless
Since Mitch McConnell, Chip Roy, and others have shown absolutely no interest in option 1, When Democrats Turn Out relies on grassroots supporters like you to make option 2 a reality.
