Hi friend — I’m Jeff the lead Project 83 organizer. I don’t usually write emails like this one, but today I have a really important favor to ask.

Many people don't know this, but we're one of the few state parties in the country running a year-round field program. Our thinking is pretty simple: We can't expect to win if we're reaching undecided voters at the last minute before an election. That means we are constantly communicating with undecided voters about their priorities.

But when I first got involved in organizing, many long-time operatives told us this was a bad idea. They said it was too expensive to fund a year-round effort, but thankfully Chair Lavora Barnes didn't listen to them.

Does it mean we need to keep more staff and volunteers on board? Sure. But we flipped Michigan's executive branch blue because of supporters like you in 2018, and it's how we're going to keep it blue in 2022.

Our work resulted in massive turnout last year, ensuring that President Biden won Michigan. So believe me when I say, we know how to do this work and we know how to do it well.

But 2021 is a redistricting year, which means that the lines will change and we may need to engage even more undecided and first-time voters.
