Dear
Friend
--
We hit a major milestone in Long Beach today with 70% of adults in
our city having been vaccinated against COVID-19. We've also
vaccinated over 99% of seniors. We have gotten here thanks to the
efforts of our dedicated Health Department, community medical partners
and everyone who has made it a priority to get vaccinated to help
protect themselves and keep our community safe.
We first began administering vaccines in December 2020 and have
worked diligently to get doses to people as they became eligible. Our
approach in Long Beach has been hailed as a national model by the
White House and the Governor. We are continuing to host vaccine
clinics for older adults, mobile clinics, sites at some of our schools
and parks, and evening clinics to ensure that COVID-19 vaccinations
are accessible to all.
I really want to encourage all community members 12 and older to
get the vaccine to protect themselves and to keep our city safe and
healthy. For information about our vaccination locations and hours of
operation, visit longbeach.gov/vaxlb.
Appointments are not required, but people interested in scheduling one
may do so here.
For more information and assistance, you can also always call

Thank you and Go Long Beach,
Mayor Robert Garcia
