John, Last week, prosecutors with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office indicted the Trump Organization and its CFO, Allen Weisselberg, with 15 counts in regards to a massive tax fraud scheme. The Trump Organization, the indictment states, funneled over $1.7 million to Weisselberg in the form of unreported cars, an apartment, school tuition, and additional cash, hiding the payments from the IRS for nearly two decades while keeping detailed internal records in spreadsheets. “There is no clearer example of a company that should be held to criminal account,” said Carey Dunne, General Counsel with the office of the Manhattan District Attorney. While former President Trump has yet to be charged in connection to his namesake organization’s fraud, it may only be a matter of time. That said, Trump must be held accountable not only for these state crimes in New York, but for all federal crimes he may have committed.
