John,

Just when we thought the Senate Republicans couldn’t stoop any lower after forcing the resignation of Minnesota’s Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Commissioner Laura Bishop in a political stunt on Tuesday, MN GOP Senator David Osmek chimed in on the issue. Here’s what he had to say:

“She put her own head into her noose and jumped, so she’s no longer on the list, but she was a horrible, terrible commissioner... Particularly with that Clean Cars junk she was trying to ram through."–KNSI, 7/6/21

This is an absolutely disgusting statement for anyone to make, let alone a Minnesota State Senator whose party just 6 months ago enabled a violent insurrection against the U.S. Capitol. Worse still, he admits they didn't even target her because she wasn't qualified; they did it because she was working to protect our environment and clean up pollution.

It's clear the Minnesota Republican Party is still the Party of Trump. We are working year-round to hold the line, but we can't keep it up without your support.

We set a goal of raising $10,000 by Sunday night, and right now, we're only 30% of the way there.

We need to do everything we can to defend the progress of Governor Walz and our DFL legislators. Will you pitch in $10, $25, $50, or whatever works for you right now to help us hold Republicans like Osmek and Gazelka accountable?

Thank you,

Brian Evans
Communications Director
