Friend,
Our right to vote is under attack -- the likes of which we haven't seen since the 1960s. But we can't allow these setbacks to stop our momentum. In 2020, we launched the largest Black voter engagement program in the country, The Collective's Vote To Live Campaign.
With grassroots support, we registered over 114,000 voters last year. And we're ramping up efforts to register even more voters in 2021 and 2022. First, donate what you can to help fuel our Black voter registration efforts. Then, keep reading to learn more about our plan to make history again ยป
WHAT WE DO: We use a two-pronged approach to engage Black voters -- 1) innovative voter registration initiatives, and 2) extensive voter education efforts.
OUR GOAL: To inform the Black community of the importance of their vote, how to protect and cast their ballot under changing legal and political circumstances, and how their vote fits into a broader political and civic engagement strategy to build power for our communities.
VICTORIES: In 2020, The Collective's Vote To Live Campaign:
- Made 2.8 million phone calls to Black voters;
- Invested $1.5 million in radio ads to get out the vote in Black communities;
- Organized 183,000 volunteer phone bank shifts;
- Offered 75,000 free rides to the polls;
- And registered 114,000 voters before Election Day.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: Extremist lawmakers are using the results of the 2020 election to aggressively and thoroughly chip away at our rights at the state and local levels. In June, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Arizona's discriminatory voter suppression law -- dealing a nearly fatal blow to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: Support us! This early on, resources matter the most. Knowing what funds we have on hand will help us map a path to victory toward registering more Black voters than ever before. Donate now to fuel our movement.
Thank you,
The Vote To Live Team
