Friends,
Last week, I finished the most recent legislative session and made it back to MI-11 to celebrate the Fourth. I fulfilled a lifelong dream by passing my science research bill, secured long overdue funding for Beck Road, and spent a joyful holiday with friends and family.
A lot has happened recently, and I want to make sure you’re up to date -- so here’s your summer newsletter!
My latest bill: The National Science Foundation for the Future Act
When we invest in American scientists, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish. The National Science Foundation has always been the cornerstone of American research and innovation, and this bill ensures it will keep the United States leading the charge.
The NSF for the Future Act increases research funding, improves STEM programs across all education levels, addresses cyber-security threats, and empowers the NSF to experiment with solutions to the biggest challenges of the moment.
Investing in science, cutting-edge research, and STEM education is what keeps our country ahead of the competition. I’m so proud to deliver for our scientists and inspire the next generation of researchers.
A joyful, vaccinated Fourth of July
I was over the moon to spend July 4th with my community. Big thanks to Northville Mayor Brian Turnbull for hosting an amazing Fourth of July garden party!
Update on our race
Right before the Fourth, the National Republican Congressional Committee launched their latest attack ads against me. I’m a top target for national Republicans and our battleground district hangs in the balance. If you’re able, chipping in $5 or more would help us fight back.
That’s it for now, friends. There’s a lot of big legislative action in the works, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated. This is an incredibly exciting moment for our country. We really are building back better, and it feels darn good.
Thanks for reading, and I’ll be in touch soon!
Yours,
Congresswoman Haley Stevens
