Hi, team. I wanted to make sure you saw this. And in case it wasn’t already 100% obvious that Paul Gazelka’s attack on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) was a self-serving stunt aimed at scoring points with the right-wing base, here’s what he tweeted immediately after forcing out Commissioner Bishop on Tuesday:

Not exactly subtle, huh? Pitch in by tomorrow night, so we can be prepared to have Governor Walz’s back the moment Gazelka announces his campaign.

WCCO: “MPCA Commissioner Resigns As Senate GOP Takes Steps Toward Firing Walz Cabinet Members”

Team,

Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Commissioner Laura Bishop resigned today after MN Senate GOP Majority Leader Paul Gazelka targeted her in yet another shameless, politically motivated attack on the Governor’s cabinet.

Minnesota Senate Republicans have already removed two commissioners in special sessions over the past year – an unprecedented act of obstruction in our state’s history.

Still, Commissioner Bishop stood firm against threats from Gazelka right up to the end, refusing to subject the MPCA to his petty games and halt the Governor’s clean car initiative. Her departure is a profound loss for our state and all who believe that climate change is real.

With Gazelka expected to launch his campaign for Governor in the coming weeks, we have to be prepared. We can’t let him, or anyone else, drag us back to the vengeful, self-serving politics of Donald Trump. That’s why we’re expanding our summer organizing targets immediately.

To cover the initial costs, we need to raise at least $15,000 by Friday. Will you pitch in $10, $25, $50 (or whatever works) to help us get there?
