Just a little over a year ago, we began Truth to Power with an ambitious goal: to elect new leaders who will fight for reform and transparency in Washington.

And one year later, we’re proud to have done just that.

The candidates that Truth to Power fought to elect in 2020 are hard-at-work bringing much-needed reform and perspective to the halls of Congress. Just this past week, Congresswoman Cori Bush introduced “The People’s Response Act,” that would establish a division within the Department of Health and Human Services to promote and fund community-led responses to public safety.

Legislation like this demonstrates the importance of electing people who believe in a government built to serve people, not special interests. Leaders like Cori Bush are fighting hard to invest in legislation that brings us closer to community safety and justice.
