Hi friends,
Whether you’ve only just begun to receive our updates or have been a supporter of the youth we represent for years, you probably know that we are very optimistic about the next steps in our landmark federal climate case, Juliana v. United States.
We hope you’ll consider placing a sign in your yard, in your window, or on your car to show your support around the country, so that everyone is aware of the progress of this case toward trial!
We are eagerly awaiting U.S. District Court Judge Ann Aiken’s decision on the youths’ “motion to amend,” which would finally set the case back on course toward trial! Simultaneously, confidential settlement conversations with President Biden’s Department of Justice will continue, and, yesterday, we opposed the intervention request filed by 18 Republican Attorneys General, with support from a new amicus brief, also filed yesterday, by the Attorney General of New York, signed by Attorneys General from 5 other states: Delaware, Hawai’i, Minnesota, Oregon, and Vermont.
This forward momentum is happening all while our nation experiences record heat waves, early tropical storms, historic droughts, and another already devastating wildfire season.
Let’s show the world that we stand in solidarity with the Juliana 21, now more than ever!
