John,
Democrats have a huge opportunity to deliver for Americans by taking on Big Pharma and lowering prescription drug prices. But a few so-called “moderate” Democrats are standing in the way.
Rep. Scott Peters, who backed H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act in 2019 and 2020, is now threatening to derail the entire Democratic reconciliation package if it includes provisions to lower drug prices.
What changed Rep. Peters’s mind? It turns out the pharmaceutical industry has donated over $229,973 to his campaigns―so it’s no surprise that he’s willing to torpedo the entire Democratic agenda for them.1
Rep. Scott Peters’s constituents deserve to know―so we’re driving a billboard truck around his California district this week. Donate $7 to keep our truck on the road:
We’re sending a message to Rep. Peters: Stand up for your voters, not your fat cat campaign donors!
There’s nothing moderate about handing a blank check to Pharma. Democratic, Republican, and independent voters all want Congress to lower drug prices. Scott Peters doesn’t care. He is working for his Big Pharma donors, not for voters. So we’re making sure that his constituents know it.
Help fund our Billboard Truck and make sure that Congress takes action to lower drug prices at last! Donate $7 today!
Billboard trucks work. We ran a similar truck in Rep. Jake Auchincloss’s district in May, and he recanted his Pharma-fueled obstruction within the week.
But Rep. Peters’s district, which neighbors San Diego, is more expensive to run billboards in than Auchincloss’s. Chip in today to keep the pressure on!
Thanks,
