From the start, the NIMBY opposition to Affordable Housing at 2550 Irving Street in San Francisco's Sunset District has been fierce. Ugly rhetoric like "No Slums in the Sunset" plastered the neighborhood. The opposition has raised more than $10,000 to oppose the project and held numerous meetings to shout about their opposition to building a 7 story building with "too little parking" that will somehow "block out the sun."
Now we need to come out in force for this project, and show San Francisco that we can and we must build housing on the West Side.
We've collected more than 800 signatures in support of this project. How many people can we get to show up IN PERSON to celebrate housing for all? We'll be making signs and rallying supporters, preparing for the vote at the Budget & Finance Committee later that week.
