Liberals in Washington are once again raising taxes on residents of the state. Washington’s liberal Governor Jay Inslee just signed a bill that will force employers to withhold a .58% payroll tax from all employee wages with the intention of funding the country’s first state-run, long-term services program. And to boot, the Washington state house also passed a bill that would raise the gas tax (at a time when gas prices are already skyrocketing).

Hi John,

Liberals in Washington are once again raising taxes on residents of the state. Washington’s liberal Governor Jay Inslee just signed a bill that will force employers to withhold a .58% payroll tax from all employee wages with the intention of funding the country’s first state-run, long-term services program. And to boot, the Washington state house also passed a bill that would raise the gas tax (at a time when gas prices are already skyrocketing).

While the country recovers from the pandemic and state-mandated shutdowns, the Left has not let up on Americans’ pocketbooks. In order to get our economy back on track, Americans should have the freedom to spend their hard-earned dollars how they, not the government, deem best for their families.

Liberals still haven’t learned you can’t tax yourself into prosperity. Thankfully, conservative-led states like New Hampshire, Arizona, and Ohio are working to cut taxes and provide relief for small businesses. Conservatives will always advocate for small government, low taxes, and Americans’ ability to keep as much of their paychecks in their own pockets as possible.

Sincerely,

Matt
