We should start preparing to see Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the White House, at least according to a new 2024 straw poll that puts him three points ahead of Trump among conservative voters.

Saying this is bad news would be an understatement. DeSantis is proving that fascism can thrive in Florida. Just this week, his law went into effect requiring public university students and faculty to declare their political beliefs or risk losing federal funding.

And that's just the beginning, John. Restricting the voting rights of people who disagree with him, limiting academic freedom and expression, banning the right to protest -- DeSantis has done all these things in just a few months. We know it's easy to look the other way, but these are the same laws DeSantis will bring to the White House.
