Make sure you?re ?double-jabbed? as soon as possible

Let's Go Get Vaccinated Nottingham

As more of our city reopens from 19 July, the importance of getting your Covid-19 vaccination becomes even greater. It offers the best protection against the spread of the virus, but it is vital that you have both doses of the vaccine to get the full benefit. The second dose needs to be given eight weeks after the first jab, so anyone who had their vaccine appointment before 12 May can now get their second jab. You can walk into any vaccination centre without an appointment. They are open every day, although the opening times [ [link removed] ] vary, so do check before you go. For those who have yet to have their first jab, I would urge you to go along to a vaccination centre as soon as possible ? anyone over 18 is eligible ? and by getting your first jab this week you will be able to get your second jab at the beginning of September as people return to work and school following the summer holidays. Let?s do everything we can to get our city ready for the autumn and winter ahead by protecting ourselves and each other from Covid-19.

Making Nottingham's Neighbourhoods Cleaner

Making Nottingham's Neighbourhoods Cleaner

As part of our commitment to keep neighbourhoods clean and tidy I recently joined my co-councillor Pavlos Kotsonis and local residents to litter pick around the Lenton.?One of the key priorities for the council is ensuring that we keep Nottingham clean and tidy and that neighbourhoods are as clean as the city centre. Litter is one of the issues that will be tackled during our upcoming Days of Action [ [link removed] ], taking place across the city over the next year.

Nottingham is lucky to have thousands of people who take pride in their area and give up their time to help make our communities cleaner. There are over 4,500 Clean Champions who help keep our city clean and I?would like to thank every one of them for what they do. If you want to be a Clean Champion you can find out more here [ [link removed] ].

Nobody likes to see rubbish in their neighbourhoods and it is important to remember that the Council provides a numbers of services to help keep neighbourhoods clean. If you aware of any issues such as broken bins, missed collections or bulky waste, please report it here Report a problem in your neighbourhood [ [link removed] ].

Taking a fresh look at our plans for the future

Taking a fresh look at our plans for the future

We?re keen to get your feedback on a refreshed Council Plan setting our renewed priorities and direction for the next two years.

We set out our initial Council Plan in 2019 but a lot has changed since then, including a global pandemic and a Government review of the council, so it was important for us to look again at it. Our Recovery and Improvement Plan is clear that if we are to achieve our aims and live up to our aspirations for Nottingham, we must be prepared to rethink what we do and how we do it. This refreshed Council Plan does that and helps us to plot a new course for the council which remains ambitious for Nottingham and its people while ensuring our finances are sustainable so we can continue delivering the modern, efficient services that local people deserve.

You can read the draft plan and have your say via an online survey [ [link removed] ]. There will be a public Question and Answer session on Tuesday 20 July. To register for this either complete the online survey or email [email protected] for further details of the session.

Good Luck to England

Weekend of Sport

Good luck to the whole of the England team in their semi-final match against Denmark this evening. I will be watching the match from home but know others will be enjoying it in one of the many great hospitality venues in our city. It will likely be very busy in the city centre so please remember to be safe and ensure you treat public spaces with respect by keeping them clean. After recent matches people have been congregating in front of the Council House where we have put up a 60-foot St George?s Flag to show our support for the team. So far people have been behaving sensibly and whatever the result this evening that needs to continue. The whole of Nottingham and the whole of the country is behind Gareth Southgate and his squad and I wish them the best of luck.
