John,
Our supporters are the best.
Last week, I sent an email asking our supporters to take part in a special project — to welcome newly admitted refugees to the United States. And in return, we received so many thoughtful and kind notes.
I thought I'd send a quick reminder — to mobilize as many people as possible to help welcome refugees starting new lives in the U.S. If you haven't already, can you take a moment to send your virtual note of welcome to refugees? [link removed]
(Or, will you forward this email to a friend or two, asking them to take part?)
President Biden recently increased the number of refugees allowed in the U.S. this year to 62,500 people.
We welcome the president's recognition of the long-held values of providing refuge to people fleeing violence and political persecution — and America's promise to reset the global standard for humanitarian commitment.
That's why we're inviting you to be among the first people to welcome refugees to the United States after this exciting announcement.
Thank you for taking part in this special project.
