China's Xi throws down gauntlet to US – Xi’s speech, while fiery, did not indicate personal weakness or fear. It needs to be seen as part of an ongoing messaging campaign that China will no longer play a subordinate role. Xi’s China will not submit to foreign lectures and pressure. Insofar as the West wants China to conform to the rules of a rules-based international order, Xi and the CCP are indicating that those rules must be ones that China has forged. Napoleon is said to have warned, “Let China sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world.” Xi Jinping’s speech suggests that China is, indeed, roused and ready to start that shaking. Schools hiding behind diversity and inclusion rhetoric to spew critical race theory vile – What can we do to stop the toxic outcomes of this philosophy? Don’t look for government to stop it on its own, because many government officials support CRT. That leaves it to parents and taxpayers to speak out by engaging elected officials and local school boards. Our research confirms parents are willing to help to improve the quality of civics education that their children receive, and to foster an appreciation for the nation’s founding principles, enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. School boards determine the content of the curriculum in their districts, so that’s one of the best places to start. For years, parents have been concerned that too many grade schools and universities have served more as indoctrination centers than institutions of learning. But with CRT, more parents seem to be pushing back. Perhaps CRT has gone far enough to have awakened a sleeping giant. Heritage expert: Angela Sailor
I Read Robin DiAngelo’s New Book on ‘Nice Racism.’ Here Are 3 Takeaways. – According to DiAngelo, if you are not spending every day locked away in an ivory tower, thinking about how you will end white supremacy, you are a racist. In fact, even then you are a racist, racist. That is the main takeaway from almost all of DiAngelo’s work. Everything you do is racist. If you want to do something about it you need to buy these books, attend these lectures, pay these consultants, and only then you will have begun the process of purging racism from society. Biden's immigration policies have turned a win into a loss – The Biden administration has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. It immediately stopped border wall construction, halted the “Remain in Mexico” program, tore up the asylum cooperative agreements, ended most deportations, requested congressional amnesty for the untold millions of illegal aliens in the U.S., decreased use of Title 42 health protections, and repeatedly messaged that no unaccompanied alien child would be turned away. Predictably, historic numbers of immigrants – from all over the world, not just south of the border – flocked to enter the U.S. illegally. Human smugglers are pocketing $14 million a day, profiting royally from their “services” that often leave women raped en route and children abandoned at journey’s end. Border agents have intercepted known terrorists, gang members and sexual predators, but no doubt others have slipped through. Illegal aliens have been transported throughout the U.S. even after testing positive for COVID. Heritage expert: Lora Ries
Supreme Court Leaves Unlawful, Unconstitutional Eviction Moratorium Intact – The CDC moratorium exceeded powers delegated to it by Congress, created economic policy through executive fiat, infringed upon the fundamental constitutional right to petition state courts, and infringed upon the sovereignty of states by interfering with the jurisdiction of those courts. We must be vigilant against attempts to use this crisis as an excuse to further erode private property rights, enlarge federal power beyond constitutional limits, rewrite legislation by executive fiat, or deny fellow citizens their fundamental right to access the courts, enter into enforceable contracts, and to possess private property. Our system of government, including enumerated powers and separation of powers, requires each branch to stay in its assigned lane. And it demands that the federal government respect the sovereignty of the individual states. The decision by the Supreme Court to permit this unlawful and unconstitutional eviction moratorium to remain intact should concern us all. Heritage expert: Joel Griffith
