John,

Today, Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka forced the resignation of Governor Walz’s Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Commissioner Laura Bishop. Gazelka’s decision to defend big polluters, exact revenge on the Governor for his strong leadership during a once-in-a-generation public health crisis, and harm Minnesota’s ability to protect our environment for generations show he does not have Minnesotans best interest in mind.

Before he has even officially jumped into the Governor’s race, Gazelka has proven once again why he is not fit to lead our state. This latest underhanded move comes on the heels of 18 months of non-stop bad-faith attacks against Governor Walz – all while he enabled Donald Trump’s war on science, attacks on our democracy, and failed response to COVID-19.

If Gazelka is willing to act this recklessly now to boost his own political prospects, imagine how much damage he could do as Governor should he run.

To make sure we’re prepared to hold him accountable the moment he announces his campaign, we’re aiming to raise $10,000 by Sunday night.

These attacks won’t stop, and we have to be ready for anything. Will you pitch in $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can afford right now to help us reach this goal?
