John,
We ran a campaign rooted in the idea that we can have bold, progressive local government that delivers for its people. This was the most grassroots campaign for Comptroller in NYC history (really probably anywhere!) -- and I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who was part of it.
With the vast majority of absentee votes counted, our lead has grown to 24,685 and we’re confident that I will be the Democratic nominee for New York City Comptroller.
It’s not totally over yet -- voters still have an opportunity to fix errors on their absentee ballots, and the results will not be certified officially until next week.
But we’re headed to the general election in November and already getting to work on efforts to ensure NYC’s recovery funds are spent wisely and that our essential workers get the rights and protections they deserve.
Thank you New York City! I promise to work hard every single day to build a city that is more just, more equal, and more prepared for the future.
