Six months ago today, a violent mob fueled by the lies of Donald Trump stormed the Capitol in an attack on our democracy.

The world watched as insurrectionists undermined the will of the American people, endangered the lives of countless public servants and desecrated our U.S. Capitol in the strongest possible terms.

One of those under attack that day was Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.

And since then, he has: *

Trump
“bears
responsibility”
for
the
Capitol
riot

and
then
promptly
walked
that
claim
back,
*
Voted
against
the
impeachment
of
President
Trump,
*
Kicked
Liz
Cheney
out
of
House
leadership
for
voting
to
impeach
Donald
Trump,
*
Opposed
the
formation
of
a
commission
to
investigate
the
events
of
January
6
and
protect
the
Capitol
from
future
attack,
*
Refused
to
meet
with
Capitol
Police
Officer
Michael
Fanone,
who
was
seriously
injured
protecting
Members
of
Congress
like
himself
from
rioters,
*
Met
with
with
Officer
Fanone
after
weeks
of
public
pressure
--
only
to
tell
him
he
will
not
publicly
disavow
lies
Rebublican
lawmakers
are
telling
about
the
insurrection,
*
And
finally,
threatened
to
punish
members
of
his
own
party
who
serve
on
the
House
commission
aimed
at
getting
to
the
truth
about
January
6.

It’s clear: Kevin McCarthy and the GOP are willing to risk inciting the same violence we saw at the Capitol six months ago by continuing to embrace Donald Trump’s Big Lie.
