Below is a longer, personal note about why our fast approaching public fundraising deadline is critical to the future of Michigan.

If you're able to donate, please pitch in here: [link removed]

John,

I don't go looking for a fight, but I've never backed down from one.

Michiganders could once count on strong communities, good-paying jobs, and quality public schools from the UP all the way down to Detroit.

But for too long, our leaders have given in to political games that have left many of our families behind.

I'm fighting to rebuild a pathway of opportunity for all Michiganders.

In just one week, our fundraising numbers will go public and I need your help to send a message: Together, we can make Michigan a state, not just where people stay, but where folks from all over the country come to for opportunity. Can I count on you to chip in before our deadline?

Our state is facing problems that have been building up for decades. It's not going to be easy to fix the damn roads, improve our public schools, or create an economy that works for everyone.

Donald Trump and national Republicans are already investing heavily in Michigan. And special interest groups are ready to drown out the needs of our state to further their own agenda in 2020.

But I'm determined to stay focused on the issues that matter here at home -- ensuring every Michigander has clean water, fixing our infrastructure, and providing a quality public education for every student.

We can build a future that is as promising as the potential of the people in our state. Let's continue to build progress that matters.

Pitch in before our next public fundraising deadline and help us flip Michigan blue in 2020:

Let's get to work,
