John — Last week, the conservative-dominated Supreme Court upheld two restrictive Arizona laws that delivered a blow to voting rights and the Voting Rights Act.

Restricting access to the ballot box isn’t exclusive to Arizona. Across the country, 17 states have put forth over two dozen new laws that roll back voting rights and restrict access to the ballot.

Let’s be explicit about what’s happening: Democrats won both chambers of Congress and the White House last year, and now Republicans are working expeditiously to ensure that can never happen again.

Now, Trump’s hand-picked justices have swayed the Supreme Court to the far-right in favor of these states’ efforts to make it harder for people to vote — especially underrepresented minorities and communities of color.

The Senate must pass the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to protect our right to vote and push back against this wave of right-wing attacks. Sign on if you agree:

With the power you’ve entrusted to her, Barbara will continue to fight for our rights in Congress. She will not let these attacks on the fundamental rights of our democracy go unanswered.

Thank you for standing with her in this ongoing fight,

— Barbara Lee for Congress
