Running counter to expectations, opinion polls show that Trump has a level of support from the Latino community comparable to that enjoyed by Presidents Reagan and George W. Bush, despite an ongoing campaign by mainstream media to characterize his presidency as anti-Latino and anti-immigrant.
The reality, as Pedro will explain, is that the Latino community has been widely appreciative of Trump’s successes in increasing American jobs, as well as his efforts to promote traditional cultural values. These sentiments are then supplemented by the disfavor with which many Latinos view illegal immigration, which has brought increased crime and violence to the American landscape as well as put pressure on jobs and wages.
