Last June, Katie started Truth to Power PAC to create an avenue of support for political candidates who would join her in Congress to stand up to corporate special interests, lobbyists, and corrupt politicians—all while unapologetically fighting for progressive values.
Truth to Power operates on the belief that Washington needs new leaders who will be independent voices for change and fight to reform our political system and economy. And in 2020, Katie and the Truth to Power team were able to help send six new candidates to Congress: Cori Bush (MO-01), Ben Ray Luján (NM-SEN), Ritchie Torres (NY-15), Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), Mondaire Jones (NY-17), and Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07).
Now, as Truth to Power celebrates one year in operation, they’re planning for the midterms in 2022, and building as much momentum as possible to support progressive candidates to send more Katie Porters to Washington.
