Dear John,
I just wanted to make sure you saw Jeanne’s note last week about our progress toward our $45,000 match.
Here’s the quick version: We must continue to push back our opponents who are working to ban Ranked Choice Voting and fight to strengthen our democracy by passing RCV statewide in the MN House next session.
In order to stay one step ahead of our opponents and win RCV in Minnesota, we need to keep organizing and talking to voters and legislators every. single. day.

Subject: Fund the fight against gridlock & the RCV ban - all gifts matched
Dear John,
Minnesota is the only divided state legislature in the country. While we applaud efforts of the Governor and leadership to get budget bills across the finish line, working under constant threat of a government shutdown is no way to run a state government and doesn’t bode well for the future since we have continued divided government in 2022. More importantly, many of the policies so desperately needed and demanded by a majority of Minnesotans - from police reform to public safety to protecting our environment to strengthening our democracy and many others - have been left undone or fall far short of what’s needed.
We desperately need to change the structure of our system so that elected officials are incentivized to work in a more collaborative manner to address the needs of all Minnesotans, and we know Ranked Choice Voting can help break through the gridlock and bring about a more effective, functioning state government.
Help us bring this key reform to Minnesota statewide.
Supporters concerned about the state of our government and democracy have offered a special $45,000 match between now and July 15. Double your impact by donating whatever you can today!
Thankfully, due to your efforts and our champions in the Minnesota House, the state government finance bill passed without the ban on Ranked Choice Voting and other anti-democratic provisions like provisional balloting. We’re grateful we stopped the ban, but that threat, unfortunately, is not going away, and moreover, it’s incredibly disappointing that when our country has faced the greatest threat to our democracy in generations, no action was taken to strengthen it.
We MUST push back against these efforts to preempt one of the most promising democratic reforms and also fight to strengthen our democracy by passing RCV statewide in the House next session. There is strong support in the Minnesota House, and we just need a few more members to sign on to get it across the finish line.
Help us defeat the ban and advance RCV in the MN House by donating whatever you can TODAY and your effort will be matched dollar for dollar.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Massey |
