On Tuesday, India's Defense Research and Development Organisation announced that it had successfully test-fired the Agni P surface to surface ballistic missile. The Agni P is a new generation advanced variant of Agni class missiles.

On Thursday, The Washington Post reported that China had begun building 100 new missile silos in the dessert near the northwestern city of Yumen. Experts say, however, that the actual number of missiles going into those silos might be much less than 100, as China has been known to deploy decoy silos in the past.

It was also announced on Thursday that Switzerland had picked Lockheed Martin's F-35A fighter jets and Raytheon's Patriot missile defense systems for their defense needs. Despite widespread criticism on the new $7.6 billion deal, the Swiss government believes that the American-made systems provide the highest level of effectiveness for the best cost.
 
On Friday, a senior Moscow official stated that Russia has offered to supply Belarus with S-400 and Pantsir-S1 defense systems on short notice if the need arises. According to the report, the Russian and Belarusian militaries are in close communication about a variety of military issues.

On Saturday, it was reported that the U.S. PAC-3 missile defense system has been deployed to the island of Amani-Oshima, Japan for the first time during the joint Orient Shield 21 exercises between Japan and the U.S. The exercise signifies the strong sense of shared commitment to peace and security from both countries.
