John,
No matter where you live, the pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives. But while those of us in wealthy countries are more likely to have access to a vaccine, only 0.3% of the world’s COVID-19 vaccine doses have gone to people in low-income countries.
This isn’t an accident. When rich countries hoard doses, they obstruct efforts to break through global vaccine supply shortages, all in the name of protecting profits and bankrolling the pharmaceutical industry.
Tonight at 6:00 pm ET, Sunrise is joining National Nurses United, People's Action, Center for Popular Democracy, DSA, and Health GAP for a virtual teach-in about the intersection between COVID vaccine justice and the broader fight for collective liberation.

COVID-19 vaccines would not exist without publicly-funded research — so why are Pharma billionaires in charge of deciding who gets them?
Deadly vaccine and treatment inequities are fueled by the same greedy few and oppressive systems that fuel the climate crisis. And just like climate injustice, dismantling vaccine inequity will require bold action and global solidarity.
It doesn’t have to be like this. Together, we plan to create a healthy planet where people come first. I hope you’ll join us tonight to hear from organizers fighting to End Vaccine Apartheid and learn how you can join the fight. [[link removed]]
In solidarity,
Benjamin, Sunrise
