Hi John,
When I first began running for office, we ran a scrappy, grassroots campaign largely out of my parents' basement. For those of you who remember, even most of our fundraisers were at their house, too -- including our first Fiesta in 2016.
We had about 40 family and friends, amazing homemade enchiladas and tamales, and raised the money we needed to get across the finish line in my primary.
Since then, our Fiesta has grown every year.
At our last event before the pandemic, we had over 200 guests and elected officials from all over the state who joined us to celebrate and support our work together for Downriver. But let's be real, it's mostly because my family makes the best Mexican food around.
Our Fiesta is a chance to celebrate my culture, our campaign, and our community -- all with our closest supporters and friends. This Friday, we're thrilled to be back! Join special guests, Team Camilleri, and even a Mariachi band for the Downriver event you won't want to miss.
Will you join us on Friday? You can purchase your tickets or sponsorships here: [link removed]
Even if you can't make it, help us meet our first major fundraising deadline with a contribution today: [link removed]
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Adelante,
Darrin
