John,
Reducing gun violence is serious.
Earlier this year, a majority of the U.S. House voted to pass a bipartisan, commonsense background checks bill. That bill would close longstanding internet and gun show loopholes. However, the Senate has repeatedly failed to do its job — and we have yet to see this bill come up for a vote on the Senate floor.
FIGHT GUN VIOLENCE >> [link removed]
John, it has been over 200 days since the House passed this bill. In the meantime, horrific shootings have taken the lives of Americans across our country.
As a federal law enforcement officer, I carried a firearm every day. I know the responsibility that comes with responsible gun ownership, and I also know that we can uphold the Second Amendment AND implement policies that reduce the frequency and devastation of shootings.
We will continue to witness senseless gun violence in our stores, offices, schools, and places of worship, until we take action and implement, long-overdue changes to make our communities safer from gun violence. Please, join the fight.
Together let’s tell the Senate to take action, reduce gun violence, and save lives.
Thanks for standing with me on this important issue.
