CCL's featured speaker for July is Allie Kelly, Executive Director of The Ray.

One of the virtues of carbon pricing is that it will spur technological innovation. What kind of innovation? For a glimpse of that potential, we turn this month to Allie Kelly, Executive Director of The Ray, a nonprofit that is reimagining our roadways to be greener and safer. The Ray is working on a living highway test bed to develop ways to capture solar energy, charge electric vehicles and provide a drive-through tire safety station. Allie has over 15 years of experience working in public policy, including founding Georgia Watch in Atlanta, Georgia’s only consumer watchdog organization.

Speaking Out for Climate and Environmental Justice

Community Leader Panel and Storytelling Training

Telling your story--whether to friends and family, the media, or Congress--is one impactful way to advocate for change. On July 21st at 7pm ET, hear from environmental justice advocates in DC about how they have used their voices to fight against pollution, the lack of affordable solar, and more while promoting healthy, livable communities. This virtual event will also include a storytelling training for people interested in telling their own stories to help work toward a more sustainable and just DC. Everyone is welcome! You do not need to come with a story in mind, and the training will help people with many different experiences build these skills and apply them to environmental justice, climate, and other advocacy work.

When: Wednesday, July 21, 7:00pm ET
