Gypsies, Roma and Travelers Unite in their Drive to Survive

Gypsy, Roma and Traveller campaigners from across the UK are uniting in a grassroots led campaign to resist the racist provisions in Home Secretary Priti Patel’s Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill (the Bill).  On July 7th at 1pm they will peacefully gather in Parliament Square, London to launch a Summer of Discontent against the Bill and its intention to completely outlaw nomadic Gypsy and Traveller cultures across the UK.

The launch of the Drive 2 Survive campaign comes as the Bill continues its way through parliament. Opposed by the Labour Party because of the way it restricts the right to peacefully protest, it is highly likely that because of the Government’s parliamentary majority within an outdated electoral system, that the Bill will progress into legislation.

If you can make it, please join the protest in Parliament Square at 1pm tomorrow.

Oppose the Tory Party Conference in Manchester this October!

The Tories are back in Manchester and so we will be there to protest them every step of the way. There will be a national demonstration and march on Sunday 3rd October and Manchester's venues will be alive with counter politics over the rest of their conference weekend.

There is still plenty of time to prepare, so please pass motions supporting the demo through your trade union branch and see if your local People's Assembly group of Trades Council can organise
coaches to transport activists and trade unionists from your area.
