Hey there!
One of the things I admire most about Peter is his willingness to answer any question. Especially since I talk. A lot. I might be married to the guy, but I’ve still got questions and I like to get his thoughts on just about anything.
Some of them are pretty routine, like: How much exercise did Buddy and Truman get today? What do you think of this new candle I bought at Target? (Yes, another one.)
Others are a bit deeper, like when Peter first told me he was considering running for president: “Are you serious? What are we thinking here? I love you. I believe in you. You’re amazing. Do you think this would work? Will I have to give up teaching? Where do we even start?”
Those questions about running, and the conversations that followed, led to Peter and me making a deal: we both promised to have fun, and we’d never pretend to be someone we’re not. We shook on it.
Staying true to yourself -- especially under the microscope of a presidential campaign -- can be hard. But it’s important. That’s one of the things I love best about Peter. He’s the exact same person whether we’re at home folding laundry or he’s out on a stage in front of thousands of people.
That’s how you know you’ll always get an honest answer out of Peter -- and right now, we’re running our first Ask Me Anything (AMA) session so supporters like you can ask him whatever you’d like (I’m anticipating many Buddy and Truman questions, so don’t hold back)! You can submit your questions here, and Peter will record a video answering as many as he can get to.
Peter loves hearing from supporters like you. Believe me, he can never get enough one-on-one time with voters. He appreciates a good selfie, but he’ll take a deep and honest conversation -- or even a tough question -- any day.
Tough questions, fun questions, nerdy questions -- they’re all fair game. All you’ve got to do is ask.
Enjoy!
