The past year has changed who we are as people. The outbreak of COVID-19 challenged each of us in extraordinary ways, but it is time to reclaim what the past months took from our country.

A return to normal is what we all need.

The arrival of the vaccine and the substantial drop in COVID-19 cases have made mask requirements obsolete. Why must the American people still be subjected to a federal mask mandate when traveling?

The path to normalcy cannot be found if the federal mask mandate for travelers across our country remains as is. There are NO federal restrictions in most areas. Offices, shops, and restaurants are optional mask-wearing zones. In my view, the continued federal mask mandate for public transportation is hogwash.

Keeping it in place will only hold our nation back.
